The Night Before the Battle…  Wellington stayed indoors overnight (it was raining heavily)  Napoleons troops slept outdoors in the rain  Blucher was making his way towards Brussels to help Wellington

Rain, rain, go away  Heavy rain caused Napoleon to delay his attack in the morning  This allowed allied reinforcements (Marshal Gebhard von Blucher) to arrive

The Morning of the Battle  Wellington blocks the road to Brussels.  He is outnumbered  Puts his troops behind a ridge (very defensive – uphill incline and good visual)

The Battle Begins…  After waiting for the ground to dry a bit, Napoleon launches a small attack on a nearby farm to distract some British troops  At the same time he sends most of his infantry towards Brussels

Blucher Arrives…  Blucher and the Prussians arrive to reinforce Wellingtons troops  Now Napoleon is fighting on three fronts!  This quickly leads to Napoleon being forces to retreat and surrender
