2 Winston Churchill was born on November 20, 1874 Was mainly raised by his nurse rather than his parents. Parents did not have much time for him Was raised in Blenheim Palace on the outskirts of London Blenheim Palace

3 Attended Harrow school He said “Personally I'm always ready to learn, although I do not always like being taught.” Attended the Royal Military College at Sandhurst Graduated with Honors Royal Military College

5 Churchill served as prime minister 1940 to 1945 and again from 1951 to 1955. One of the key leaders during World War II. Was also declared First Lord of Admiralty. Retired in 1955. Churchill giving a speech in 1949

6 Was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II Won the Nobel Prize for Literature By the age of 80, had suffered a heart attack, three attacks of pneumonia, two strokes and two operations. Died peacefully on January 24, 1964. More people attended his State funeral than any politician. Churchill’s Funeral
