9 Governors Service 9 DfES perspective ‘This is part of Ministers’ drive to raise standards by encouraging schools to work together and share ideas and good practice. Some schools may wish to share leadership across a number of schools’

10 Governors Service 10 Intervention powers Existing: The LA can: issue a formal warning notice appoint additional governors suspend the delegated budget replace the GB with an IEB

11 Governors Service 11 Proposed new intervention powers The LA will be able to: use a speedier process to issue a formal warning notice require the GB to enter into a contract with a specified person (which may be the GB of another school) to provide advisory services

12 Governors Service 12 Proposed new intervention powers The LA will be able to: require the GB to collaborate with the GB of another school or with an FE body, or to join a federation

13 Governors Service 13 Special measures and action by the LA Statement of action within 10 working days of receipt of report: including scope for collaboration and federation
