2 What is Dengue? Dengue fever is a virus-caused disease that is spread by mosquitoes.

3 How does it affect people? Dengue affects people by giving them a high fever, a headache, pain behind the eyes and muscle and joint pain.

4 Where can you find dengue? Some Examples: Latin America, exept Chile and Argentina. Also you can find dengue in Asia and some parts of Africa

5 How Can we Prevent Dengue? To prevent Dengue reduce the breeding to lower mosquito population. Avoid standing water (for example: in old tires) in your environment. Also use long pants and long sleeves when you are in a mosquito environment.

6 How can We cure Dengue? Currently, there is no treatment for Dengue.

7 How is the Mosquito called? The mosquito is called Aedes Aegypti Notice that the white stripes on the legs make the mosquito different from other mosquitos.

8 Ted talk interesting facts: Dengue has turned into the largest bone virus mosquito threat that we have. It infects around 100 million people every year. The nickname of dengue is break- bone fever. If you have been bitten twice and you have had it before it doesn’t affect you. Only female mosquitoes bite, not men mosquitos.

9 Making Connections of the Books Yellow Fever and an American Plague. Yellow fever, malaria and dengue come from the same mosquito. When you get dengue you don’t get yellow eyes. But when you get malaria and yellow fever you do get yellow eyes, as we read in ‘’Fever’’ and ‘‘American Plague.’’
