10 Chapter Activities - Things we do in Cornell Chapter n Tutoring n Community Service Projects n Chapter Social Events n Monthly Quiz n Professor of the year Award – Typically in the Spring! n Engineering Futures – Leadership Training: People Skills, Group/Team Skills, Analytical Problem Solving, etc… n National and District Conferences – 2004: Orlando, FL. – 2005: Salt Lake City, UT. – 2006: Denver, CO – 2007: Dearborn, MI – 2008: Sacramento, CA

12 Logistics Meeting n Successful candidates will be invited for a meeting in the week of March 12 (probably Wednesday March 12)

13 Engineering Futures: Team Chartering n Required by the Bylaws n Around 3 to 4 hours n Probably March 29th

14 Processes following that o Election o Initiation o Membership

15 Graduate Students n Forms are due before Mar 1. n Please ask me if you have any questions about the form

16 Community Service/Tutoring n Must complete 4 hours n We can supply projects n OR you furnish your own n By attending, you will be added to our service distribution list… n Check Website for opportunities www.tbp.cornell.edu

17 Dues n One time $80 for lifetime membership: Why? n Engraved Membership Key $7.35 n Membership Certificate $3.40 n 4-yr subscription to The Bent $8.40 n Constitution, Bulletin, etc. $3.00 n Expenses of the Society $4.85 n Convention Assessment $7.00 n Bronze Bent $4.00 n Chapter Expenses $42.00 n (initiation/banquet, etc) n Total: $80.00

18 Initiation n Must Attend!! n A weekend in April (~ April 12,2008) – Lunch Banquet with TBP Advisors (and possibly the Dean of Engineering) – All in Statler Ballrooms, catered by Statler. – (Included in dues) n Formal Attire (suit, tie, etc)
