1 2013 RI CONVENTION Formerly known as the Permanent Fund Gifts can be made today, or in the future (Bequest) Spendable earnings directed to programs Can establish special fund in donor’s name The larger the gift, the more specificity afforded Rotary’s Endowment Fund

2 2013 RI CONVENTION Benefactor and Bequest Society Recognition Gifts that are funded after the donor’s death A Benefactor has made a provision in their estate plan, or made an outright gift of $1,000 to Rotary’s Endowment Fund. A Bequest Society member has made a provision in their estate plan to gift a minimum $10,000 to The Rotary Foundation.

4 2013 RI CONVENTION Any contribution: area of focus pooled fund US$100,000+: area of focus donor-named general support fund US$250,000+: area of focus & district participation US$500,000+: area of focus & geographic region US$1,000,000+: Tailored to match donor interest within Foundation mission/guidelines Rotary’s Endowment-Global Grants

5 2013 RI CONVENTION Named Funds $25,000 Support World Fund or SHARE or Peace Centers $100,000 Support an Area of Focus $250,000 Support Area of Focus projects from a district $500,000 Establish an Endowed Rotary World Peace Fellowship $750,000 Endows a two-year fellow approximatel y every $1,000,000 Work with TRF to meet your philanthropic goals

6 2013 RI CONVENTION The Power of Endowment Giving An endowed fund established 20 years ago with a gift of $25,000 has grown to $39,267. Additionally, the endowed fund has provided $33,308 in spendable earnings.

8 2013 RI CONVENTION How Can You Best Help Promote Rotary’s Endowment? Help others include gifts to Rotary in their estate plan (Bequest Society) Most important source of Endowment gifts Anyone can do it No geographical limitations Don’t forget beneficiary designations Encourage Rotarians to be recognized by the district
