3 What does this mean for PVCC? Why is accreditation important to us as an institution, employee, student, community? Whose responsibility is it? What impacts the ability of an institution to become accredited? What is the self-study process?

4 Hallmarks of an Effective Self-Study Process Fits the distinctive nature of the organization Achieves stated goals that guide the design and the conduct of the process Ensures effective evaluation of the whole organization Promises to have an impact on the organization beyond the Commission visit Engages multiple constituencies of the organization Builds naturally on existing and ongoing self-evaluation processes
