4 What has Ekornes done to become an environmentally friendly factory? Their products shall have as little impact as possible on the environment They invests to avoid damage to the environment and to health They are always seeking additional ways to reuse waste materials Their products has a long lifespan Environmental glue Leather offcuts are sold abroad

5 The Nordic Ecolabel The Nordic Ecolabel is an official Nordic label created to make it easier for the consumer to find environmental friendly products. The factory is the only Norwegian Mattress Producer with the Nordic Ecolabel

6 Recycling of plastic foam Ekornes uses water instead of CFC in the production of plastic foam. Residues of foam from the production is mixed together and used in stools.
