Meeting, 13/11/2001 ow Energy Electromagnetic Physics ow Energy Electromagnetic Physics New physics features -Model for fluorescence in the continuous part of e/h ionisation -PIXE -Improvements in various physics processes Status: implemented, tested, tagged OOAD: major design iteration -First OO design of data management, cross sections and atomic relaxation -OOD cycle on all e/photon processes Status: implemented, tested, tagged SPI -UR, OOAD, traceability, group process documents etc: all maintained, improved on the basis of feedback from process, in the repository -Reverse engineered event, run, hits+digi, track, processes/management, analysis, particles/management,visualisation (management, model) etc. Status: done Advanced examples -New examples: n Underground experiment n X-ray fluorescence -Major new features: digitisation, ntuples -New analysis design -Will be released with UR, designs, traceability Status: will be tagged by 30 November Testing -Many new unit tests -Unit testing  AIDA/Anaphe Status: implemented, tested, tagged Migrations -STL, “new” materials etc. -ANSI strict options -Cuts per material (aka tracking media) Status: all implemented, tested, tagged (“cuts per material” not supported)

Meeting, 13/11/2001 Conclusions The major role of analysis in Geant4 is internal -Physics -Unit testing -System testing External role only to facilitate the user support process (examples) A lot of work has been in progress for ~1.5 years -both in the external and internal domain -several people actively involved Rigorous software process adopted -to generate a high quality product Various artifacts already available Note 1: Let’s not confuse the work for analysis in Geant4 with the development of AIDA or of any specific analysis system Note 2: A liaison with AIDA, CLHEP, external products would be useful
