1 Welcome to Primary School Jiráskova Our school is situated in Benšov u Prahy. Benešov is a town in the Central Bohemian Region, Czech Republic, about 40 kilometres southeast of Prague.

2 The School Historie The history of our school began in 1926 when the local school board announced the construction of the new school. The construction works were initiated April 27, 1932 and ended in February 1934. Initially the school construction was planned for a shorter period of time but due to the consequences of the Great Depression it became urgent to redesign the architectural plan of the school and thus to reduce the financial investment.

3 The contemporary look of the school building dates from 1934 Despite financial cuts the school is quite large being nowadays attended by over 700 students..

5 How does our school look like today? During the years our school has undergone many changes to meet high standards of a highly equiped classrooms. The classrooms of our younger pupils look really very nice.

7 The School Sports Hall Our school offers the possibility of using the sports hall - gym. Pupils have the opportunity to play a wide range of team sports. Our school is very good at floorball and often organizes local and regional tournaments. Author Vojtěch K. 9.B
