Marginal hairs on carapace of Chydorus sphaericus. Insertion of 1 st antennae in rostrum groove. Plate 006c. Lateral view of Chydorus sphaericus showing lateral denticles on postabdomen. Projection on postabdomen is characteristic. Most common species of all Cladocera, widely distributed. All olfactory setae at the end of antennule. Spherical or broadly ellptical, postabdomen with 8-9 marginal denticles. Claws on postabdomen small, proximal basal spine very minute. Color light yellow to dark brown.
