7 Discussion Do you think Mr. and Mrs. Jarvis feel any different about racial issues after realizing everything that Arthur did for the cause? It says that James read the last paragraph of Arthur’s manuscript with his head, not his heart. Why do you think he did this, and what do you think the difference is? Can you relate with Mr. Harrison when he says that he didn’t agree with Arthur, but respected him? After reading Arthur’s last paragraph, do you think that the white people in South Africa actually believed that they had approval from God to mistreat blacks?
