Some people think that it as been here as long as time has existed. People also think that out solar system has been here for 4.5 million years from now, That means that our universe would be here for at least two times as long as that.

The bible says that the universe was created by god. Some people thing this is true but others think it was the big bang which is the most believable answer yet. The big bang was little microscopic ball that expanded over the years to form out universe

In 1965 too scientist did a experiment to see what the temperature of the universe was, it came out to be around 19 2.7281. there is also different temperatures in different places but it depends if it is near a star

light minutes and light hour are a much easier way to measure the distances in space. only few scientist use light hours and light minutes as it is much easier to use astronamal units.

two lenses, which are thicker in the middle than at the edges. The objective lens brings light from a distant object to a focus within the telescope tube. The eyepiece lens directs the image into your eye. © Microsoft Corporation. All Rights Reserved. Microsoft ® Encarta ® 2008. © 1993-2007 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

How did early astronomers study the stars before the telescope? In early times, astronomy only comprised the observation and predictions of the motions of objects visible to the naked eye. In some locations, such as Stonehenge, early cultures assembled massive artefacts that likely had some astronomical purpose. in addition important factor in knowing when to plant crops, as well as in understanding the length of the year.

The earliest telescope appeared in 1608 the credit was given to Hans Lippershey. of Alkmaar. Galileo used this design the following year. In 1611 another Johannes Kepler described how a telescope could be made with a convex objective and eyepiece lens and by 1655 astronomers such as Christiaan Huygens were building powerful but extremely large and unwieldy Kepler an telescopes with compound eye pieces that made it much easier to use. Hans Lippershey is the earliest person documented to have created this wonderful device.

A RADIO TELESCOPE is radio antenna used in radio astronomy The same types of antennas are also used in tracking and collecting data from satellites and space probes. In their role they differ from optical telescopes in that they operate in the Radio telescopes are typically large dish antennas used singly or in an array. Most radio telescopes are placed on top of mountain or high areas of land.

Galileo is one of the most famous astronomers in the world. Galileo was born in pisa when he was eight his family decided to move away to florence where his dad grew up however galileo decided to stay back with Muzio Tedaldi who was related to hisgalileos mother by marrige

Galileo got in trouble with the catholic church having being charged for disagreeing with the beliefs of the catholic church over His theory's on the earths motion he was put in prison even though he was a very old and sick man Galileo died in 1643 a being lonely and sick man.

Maria Mitchell was born in 1818 and died in 1889. Maria Mitchell was one of the first female astronomers. She was born in Nantucket Massachusetts America and went to private schools all her life. She discovered a telescopic comet in October of 1847. Maria Salmon Mitchell was born on August 1 st 1818 and she grew up with 9 brothers and sisters Maria Mitchell was also cousins with the electricity maker Benjamin Franklin.

A star is just like our sun made out of different types of gases. These gases give it tremendous amounts of energy.

A new star begins as a collapsing cloud of material composed primarily of hydrogen. And it forms together to make brand new star.

Constellation is patterns formed by groups of stars many of which were named by ancient astronomers which we still know them by today. Twelve of the constellations are called the signs of the zodiac. The 12 constellations are....aeries, Taurus, Gemini, cancer, Leo, Virgo, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Libra, Capricorn,Aquarius, Pisces.

nearest star to earth is the sun. The closest star to the solar system is Proxima Centauri. The slowest travel to Proxima Centauri would be by “ion drive propulsion “ which would take 81 000 years. This is solar powered ion thrusters, where electrical energy is harvested from solar panels. It would take 81 000 years to travel the 4.3 light years from earth to proxima Centauri. That would be over 2,700 human generations ! The fastest travel would be by “ gravitational assists” And would take 19,000 years. It is like the gravitational pull of the sun. If a spacecraft was travelling at a speed of 240 000 km per hour it would take 19 000 years (or over 600 human generations) to travel 4.3 light years. The fastest ( theoretical) would be “nuclear pulse propulsion’” and would take 85 years. This is the possibility of using the power of pulsed Nuclear explosions to provide huge

They seem to twinkle or charge their brightness, all the time. Most of the stars are shining with steady light. The movement of air in the atmosphere of earth causes the star light to get slightly bent as it travels from the distance star through the atmosphere down to us on the ground. This means that some of the light reaches us directly and some gets bent slightly away. To our eyes, this makes the star seem to twinkle.

The milky way is a galaxy it is a barred spiral galaxy that is part of the local group of galaxies. It is one of the million galaxies in the universe it might be hard to believe but our solar system is only a tiny winy dot in the middle of the milky way

Shooting stars or falling stars the common name for the visible path of a meteoroid as it enters the atmosphere to become a meteor in the earths atmosphere.

Here are some extra facts.....

A binary star is a star system of two stars orbiting around their common centre of mass. The brighter star is called primary and the other is its companion star or secondary star.

A globular cluster is a spere shape of that orbits a core as a satellite. Globular clusters are very tightly bound by gravity which gives them their spherical shapes and relatively high stellar densities toward their centers. The name of this category of star cluster is derived from the Latin globulus—a small sphere. A globular cluster is sometimes known more simply as a globular.

A white dwarf is a small star made mostly out of electron-degenerate. White dwarfs comprise roughly 6% of all known stars in the immediate solar neighbourhood which mean there must be lots and lots of stars out there

Neutron stars are a compact object that are created in cores of big stars. The core of a star crushes together, every proton with a corresponding electron turning each electron-proton pair into a neutron. The neutrons, sometimes stops then collapses and becomes a neutron STAR

mass A star turns into a red giant when its hydrogen fuel begins to run out. The star's core shrinks and the outer layers expand, cool, and become less bright. A red giant glows with a cool red colour.

Nebulae is a cloud of dust, Hydrogen gas helium gas and plasma gas. It is found in outer space. There are a few types of nebulas.

Really big stars become supergiants. Supergiants become supernovas, which are big exploding stars. The explosion sends gas and dust into space to make new stars. The core gets packed tighter and tighter. Some cores then turn to iron and become neutron stars. Some supernova cores turn into black holes, which swallow everything around them in space. Not even light can escape from a black hole.

A black hole is part a stars cycle in its life it is called "black" because it absorbs all the light that hits it, reflecting nothing, just like a perfect black body. A black hole can also form from super novas.
