4 Definition A geometric sequence is a sequence in which each term after the first is the previous term multiplied by a common ratio.

6 Defintion The common ratio of a geometric sequence is found by dividing any term by the preceding term.

8 Example Find the next 3 terms in the geometric sequence: 18,54,162... Steps: 1. Find the common ratio, r 2. Multiply each previous term by r to get next term
