2.  Jazz became very popular in New Orleans in the early 1900s.  The Great Migration caused many Jazz musicians, including the famous Louis Armstrong, to move North.  The introduction of Jazz to the North was met with vast enthusiasm.

4.  The section of New York known as Harlem became a cultural center for African American life.  Many creative African American writers, musicians, and artists moved there.  What resulted was an era known as the Harlem Renaissance.

6.  A new generation of American writers emerged during the 1920s.  These writers were sickened by American consumerism and materialism of the 1920s.  These ideas were expressed through their writing.  They were nicknamed “The Lost Generation”.

7.  Painting and photography became more and more respected as an art form in the 1920s.  Murals also became popular and expressed the ideas of the artist.

8.  Architecture began to reflect the creativity of the time.  NYC so a huge increase in the construction of skyscrapers.  Among the famous buildings built include the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building  The Empire State Building was the tallest building in the world until 1954.
