NASA’s Proposed Participation ©Provide SatCom service between CMOC and ECU –Commodity Industry Standard I/Fs –Full duplex desired, Asymmetric link is acceptable 6-8 Mb/s from lava plain to ECU T1 (1.5 Mb/s) from ECU to lava plain –12 to 16 hours/day (More “On” than “Off”) ©Two available options to provide service –GSFC TILT/TDRSS –NRL Humvee/Commercial

Next Steps ©We are preparing a Service Request documenting requirements and ROM cost estimate ©We need to understand NASA’s commitment to Strong Angel ASAP because time is running short –Funding authorizations & disbursements –Technical coordination w/ multiple entities –Lead Time to acquire & configure assets & services –Logistics ©We need to understand NASA Management option preferences (if any) over and above cost and quality of service
