2 What are Panhandles? A narrow strip of territory projecting from the main territory of one state into another state.

3 How does a panhandle form? There is no specific thing that creates a panhandle. For example, the Oklahoma Panhandle is just the way the boundary line worked out as a boundary line.

4 Most well known Panhandles.

5 The state of Oklahoma has a Panhandle on the Northwestern part of the state. The 3 counties in the panhandle are home to 28,000 people. The economy was hit very hard in the 1930’s Depression (Dustbowl). The Oklahoma Panhandle

6 The Florida Panhandle The most Northwestern part of Florida is the Panhandle. It is roughly 200 miles long and 50 to 100 miles wide. Population of the Panhandle is about 1,407,000.
