Biography Germaine Mason was born on 20 th January, 1983 in Kingston, Jamaica. His father is English and mother Jamaican, divorced. He was brought up by his grandmother.

Career Germaine Mason started at the age of 9 in primary school A special affection for the sport he felt at a tender age.

Achievements: under Jamaican flag In 2000 and 2002 he won silver and bronze medal at the World Junior Championships. First gold medal came in 2003 at Pan American Games

In 2006 his change in nationality was ratified by IAAF ( International Association of Athletics Federations ) and since then he could represent Great Britain.

Training Germaine Mason is coached by legendary coach, Sue Humphrey, who also trained Chales Austin to an Olympic Gold Medal in the 1996 Games. Nowadays he mostly lives in USA, because he is coached in Texas.

Olympic Games 2008 in Beijing Mason won a silver medal for Great Britain at the Beijing Olympics on 19th August 2008. He equalled his personal best of 2.34m
