Test Description: Students can demonstrate college and career readiness proficiency in producing a cogent and clear written analysis using evidence drawn from an appropriately challenging source text written for a broad audience.

3. Graded on the following:
A. Reading- understand main ideas and thesis of passage and prompt
use of textual evidence
B. Analysis- evaluate author’s use of evidence; reasoning; persuasive elements
C. Writing- use of a central claim (you write a THESIS statement!!!)
Organization; word choice; sentence structure; appropriate style; grammar
4. KEY FEATURES- Common prompt; analysis of argument; clear evaluation criteria

6. Reading
Test Description: Students can demonstrate college and career readiness proficiency in reading and comprehending a broad range of high-quality, appropriately challenging literary and informational texts in the content areas of U.S. and World literature, history, and science.

Test Description: Students can demonstrate college and career readiness and proficiency in revising and editing a range of texts in a variety of content areas, both academic and career related, for expression of ideas and for conformity to the conventions of standard written English grammar, usage, and punctuation… Basically, testing your grammar!
