Six Sigma Project Coding Performance Improvement Project Global Communication, Inc.

Project Results Overview  We successfully completed the entire project within 6 months  Successfully implement the Six Sigma Principle  Coding Performance Improvement enhances the effectiveness of the computerized coding performance  Final cost for project is $400K, 25% more than the estimated cost.  Achieve project score by contribution of entire team members.

1. Initiation Suggestion of Following Potential Projects: -Online Six Sigma Training Program -Coding performance improvement Project -Web Site redesign Project -Wireless Technology Project  Coding Performance Improvement Project is chosen among four proposed projects.  Selection of project manager as the project team leader.  Preparation of Weighted decision Matrix

Con’t  Research information of similar project to gather related ideas.  Preparation of business case for the coding performance improvement project.  Preparation of project charter for the coding performance improvement project.

2. Planning  Select a “Dream Team” for the coding performance improvement project.  Develop a team contact for the project  Preparation of stakeholder analysis  Develop a scope statement of the project  Develop a work break down structure (WBS), grant chart and network diagram for the project  Spreadsheet for estimation of project cost.  Creation of impact matrix and list of prioritized risks.

3. Executing  Research on DMAIC process.  A Pareto diagram related to the coding performance improvement project is created  Develop a project web site  Prepare milestone report for the current progress.  Identify challenges in project execution.

4 - Controlling  Performed project status review: -20% behind schedule. -20% over budget.  Team members substitutions: -Project manager. -Three full-time members.  Updated documentations: -cost estimation -spreadsheet -financial analysis

5 - Closing  Prepared a final report presentation  Prepared a lessons-learned report  Prepared a completed final report  Financial benefits of project calculation.  Updated Web site with final project and product deliverables.

Project change  Substitution of team members: -new project manager (kevin) -3 full-time member substitution.  Changing in schedule: -project is found 20% behind schedule on the fourth month. -reviewed Gantt chart.  Changing in budget: -project is found 20% over budget on the fourth month which is $ to $ re-estimation of cost estimation. -Updated financial analysis.

Conclusion  Coding Performance Improvement Project is mainly organizing for revamp and enhances the effectiveness of the computerized coding performance in Global Computer, Inc  we believe that this project can reduce the number of large computers the company needs.  The project is success since the lever of over budget and behind schedule are still considered low.
