Public Opinion The opinion of the majority about politics and the government. Public Opinion is shaped by many things: – Family – School – Mass Media

Mass Media Communication of news, events, etc. that is widely spread across the country. – Affects the way we see things and think about things.

Mass Media Mass media has changed over the years. – It has especially changed with the age of the internet. Mass Media can be biased. – Words things in a certain way to form a certain opinion.

Public Opinion Polls Try to figure out how the people feel about things by asking them questions in a poll. – Scientific Poll More accurate – Straw Poll Less accurate

Polling Questions Page 223 Polls affect the outcome of their answers by asking them in a certain way to elicit a certain response.
