The Port of Seattle

You’ve made a product, and you want to sell it to another country. What do you do?

Goods are loaded into strong containers.

Container ships bring imports, and take exports.

Containers are loaded and unloaded onto ships, using giant cranes.

Longshoremen must be quick and accurate. Be careful with those containers!

Grains can be loaded from trains, into silos, and directly into ships.

Many of the goods we use and enjoy come from other countries.

When ships arrive with imports, the containers are removed…

…placed onto trucks… …trains… …and airplanes!

Products come and go all over our nation..and beyond!

Washington State also exports many products.

The United States has many trading partners, buying and selling with each other.

The Port of Seattle also includes the Sea Tac Airport. Goods are imported and exported from there too!

The Port of Seattle connects us with the Pacific Rim!
