»What are you worth?

Introduction Km is the latest buzz word in bussiness km is the vital to gain competitive advantage and to remain as a profit making/growing organization. Km is a process of creating capturing accessing storing retrieving sharing and applying knowledge to make profit/to grow. The word know is to perceive directly or to be aware of. Thus knowledge implies awareness. Awareness cannot be stored in computers/documented It is in human minds and brains. Hence km deals with people.

I-K-W A collection of data is not information. A collection of information is not knowledge. A collection of knowledge is not wisdom. A collection of wisdom is not truth. The idea is that information, knowledge, and wisdom are more than simply collections. Rather, the whole represents more than the sum of its parts and has a synergy of its own.

Fundamentals of knowledge. Data and information are the building blocks of knowledge.. The basic principle is that every body is hooked into the world of his own imagination.. Your imagination describes the limits of what you can do or become.. Every individual has unlimited potential.. What is needed are efforts for realisation of the dream by fulfillment of goals and aspiration.. No body is born great.. Greatness comes from efforts a person makes to use his talents and develop himself.

Researchers have come out with four principles of development. 1- All development is self development. 2- Different approaches work better with different people. 3- A man’s development is because of his day-to-day experience on the job. 4- Education is a continuous process. A man should constantly strive to improve himself. Education should be a life long process.

I-H-C The more intelligent a person, The more hardworking a person The more committed a person.

Responsibility,Leadership,Relationship R L R

Job Responsibilities: Are u clear on what job responsibilities u have? How well are u discharging these responsibilities? Leadership Qualities: Your success will not depend only on how well u are discharging your job responsibilities. It will also depend on how good a leader u are. Leadership is difficult to define. But easy to appreciate. Some leadership qualities have been identified. Relationships: The third factor for success is whether u are able to maintain good relationships with your boss your peers and your subordinates.By a good relationship, we do not mean a “ Goodie-Goodie Relationships”. It should be functional and objective. It should be based on mutual respect.

Characteristics of knowledge Knowledge management It is basically of three elements s p w Self, person and Work. S P W

Working together, learning together, Exploring together, constantly balancing the three circles s p w,enhancing spw zone,by using IQ,EQ and SQ Moving from economic to Emotional to Empowering Domain.

We know a lot about producing energy. But we have also made it our business to save energy. When thinking about conservation, there are two basic questions to answer. What technology changes can be made at our organization? Second what behavioral changes can be made?

Save water save energy at 921 bench, south block.

. Stop practice of un-necessary frequent shifting of mining machineries (Diesel operated).Save electrical energy for lighting by use of solar energy.. Save energy by use of energy efficient motor.. Save energy by installation of wind-mill.. Save energy by use of day-off device.

With the demand for energy increasing around the world, we recognize the need to use energy efficiently across our entire company, whether in our offices or in our operations. We should have to make a long term commitment towards reducing the energy we use in our day-to-day operation. Save diesel save energy by not using of diesel operated lighting generator. Save energy by stop shifting of mobile welding generator by dozer/grader. Stop of idle time to save diesel in HEM equipments by using of auto sensing device. Save lubricants save energy by use of synthetic oils.

Prior to implementation, all the diesel operated blast hole drills were equipped with diesel operated lighting generators. Now, xenon lamps have been fitted in all blast hole drills in place of diesel operated lighting generators. The key benefits to using xenon head lamps is the outstanding brightness compared to conventional head lamps, longer service life, significantly improved lighting range in high beam mode. It is only operated through a 24 volt battery.

Prior to implementation After implementation Capital cost- Rs 10 lakhs Capital cost- Rs 1.5 lakhs Diesel cost- Rs 1.2 lakhs No Diesel cost per month S/Maintenance cost No maintenance cost Rs Man power lost No Man power lost 2-man days

Capital cost of Gen. set is Rs 10 lakhs has been saved against investment of Rs 1.5 lakhs only per M/C. Cost of diesel consumption is zero. Maintenance cost is zero. Spare cost minimized. 100% trouble free service. Outstanding brightness. Operator’s satisfaction

EASY SHIFTING OF MOBILE DIESEL OPERATED WELDING SET AT CRAWLER SHOP Prior to implementation, shifting of mobile diesel operated welding set was done by grader/dozer. Now, the welding set has been installed in a well equipped mobile van. No need of dozer/grader for shifting work by diverting dozer/grader from their own work. Only one man is sufficient for shifting work. Overall saving of man power, diesel & production cost are minimized

SAVE LUBRICANTS BY USE OF SYNTHETIC OIL Now, we are using synthetic oil in comp. of IDM 45 D and DI- 600 model drill. We are saving 240/360 liters of oil per maintenance per M/C.

Knowledge management. Information becomes knowledge with human interaction.. People attribute meaning and significance to information to make it knowledge.. Thus people possess knowledge.. Knowledge, skill and attitude are with people.. A skilled worker performs as expected.. A knowledgeable and skilled worker does it beyond expectations.. A knowledgeable and skilled worker with a positive attitude can accomplish anything.. Skills are imparted through training, knowledge through learning and positive attitude through education.. Training does not guarantee quality, knowledge assures better quality and education insures the best quality.

Paradox of time. we have taller buildings but shorter tempers.. We have wider freeways but narrower view points.. We buy more but enjoy less.. We have bigger houses but smaller families.. We have more amenities but less time.. We have more advance degrees but less common sense.. We have more knowledge but less wisdom.. We have more medicare but less health.. We have multiplied our possessions but divided our values.. We are in times of steep profits and shallow relationships.. We have more leisure but less fun.
