Michelle Ireland

Who am I? Michelle Ireland School Nurse I am a qualified children’s nurse who is able to offer support to the pupils and staff. I previously worked at the local hospital and started school nursing in October I can help you if you have any health condition such as asthma, epilepsy and diabetes so that you can continue to attend school. I am able to liaise with other health services.

What do we do? Keeping Healthy Immunisations Emotional Health Weight Management Sexual Health Drugs and Alcohol Smoking More Support for those who need it most Support the school doctor We work both in and out of School to provide support around

Offering Help For Everyone Community All communities have a range of health services for children, young people and their families. School nursing services can help you find out more about local services. Universal School Nursing services provide a universal service, which means that every child and young person can get support directly from us around common health issues

And extra for those who need it Universal Plus Some children and young people need extra help from an expert. The School Nursing service can give a quick response when you need it most. Universal Partnership Plus For young people who have more complex issues the School Nurse service provides on-going help by working with lots of different organisations such as a nearby charity or council

What Services Do We Provide? One to One appointments can be arranged with a qualified nurse every week or other times if needed. HPV vaccinations to year 8 girls. Updates for staff for any pupil with a complex health need. Support with emotional health, stress, family difficulties. Text advice service

A Confidential Service This means that you can discuss personal information in confidence. We will not discuss your personal information with anyone, else without your permission. This includes parents and teachers. We would only pass on your information in order to protect you or someone else from serious harm. Whenever possible we would discuss this with you first.
