ICEL The Danger of Materialism Ecclesiastes 5:

ICEL Ecclesiastes 5:8-17 (New International Version) 8 If you see the poor oppressed in a district, and justice and rights denied, do not be surprised at such things; for one official is eyed by a higher one, and over them both are others higher still. 9 The increase from the land is taken by all; the king himself profits from the fields. 10 Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless.

And what benefit are they to the owners except to feast their eyes on them? 12 The sleep of a labourer is sweet, whether they eat little or much, but as for the rich, their abundance permits them no sleep.

ICEL Chapter 5:Verse 8 We should not be surprised to see injustice We should expect to see the poor oppressed WHY? Officials and people in authority have unfair advantage to extort, manipulate who in turn are oppressed themselves IT IS THE WAY OF THE WORLD THEN AND NOW

Share what we have as it ultimately belongs to God

ICEL John 6: 35 Jesus says I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE If we follow him he will provide us with spiritual nourishment which will sustain us Philippians 4:11 ‘I have learnt to be content whatever the circumstances’ And ‘I can do everything through him who gives me strength’
