An episode of care is a period as an inpatient under the care of a specific consultant. A patient may have more than one episode during a spell if they are transferred between consultants. The profiles collate data for admissions to hospital for diabetic foot disease. This could be based on discharge diagnosis e.g. foot or leg ulcer, or procedure performed e.g. amputation or debridement of a foot or leg wound. Methodology
