PURPOSE OF PRESENTATION: To propose inputs for Military Cooperation for a Defense Cooperation Agreement with Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar

BACKGROUND PH-MYANMAR BILATERAL RELATIONS  Formal bilateral and diplomatic relations established in September 1956  Trade and economic relations strengthened during the current Aquino Administration  No formal defense cooperation agreement between PH and Myanmar  SND expressed optimism in the possibility of having a MOU in Defense Cooperation with Myanmar  It will enable both countries to cooperate in various field (i.e. defense dialogues, education, training, et al)
