RESISTANCE SKILLS

Need To Know O Resistance skills is to help you resist pressure to make a wrong decision. O It also gives people the confidence to say “NO”. O Having resistant skills and other essential social skills, people often tend to make the appropriate decisions and stand firm with their values and beliefs.

Nice To Know About 41 percent of young people, ages 11-18, say they can resist negative peer pressure and dangerous situations, according to Search Institute surveys. Studies show that there are 750,000 teen pregnancies annually. About 75% of high school students have tried alcohol and about 26% have had a recent episode of heavy drinking. It is the responsibility of parents, teachers, coaches, etc. to practice essential resistance skills with students.
