Applicable documents Standards Review of the overall specified standards to include systematically US and EU/International standards (not yet completely made). Exceptions exist for some cases when required by Safety Regulations.

Bare cavities with interfaces Requirements defined on the 1 st version of the specification (EDMS: ) Main modification: added possibility of using also EU/International standards (in some cases mandatory, imposed by Safety Regulations). Note: in principal, this only concerns materials that have not yet been purchased or that are acquired directly by CERN. Bare cavity

Helium vessel Materials? Titanium grade 2 according to DIN (for compliance with Safety Regulations) instead of ASTM B265-13a – to be confirmed Bolts Drawings? Manufacturing process & corresponding verification requirements? Shaping Non-permanent joints  bolts He vessel

HOM Couplers Identical requirements as for the helium vessel and bare cavities, whenever appropriate, have been defined Drawings? HOM coupler actuator

Tuning system Requirements have been specified for the passive part only (active part will be object of a dedicated, separate, specification) and identical to those for the helium vessel Drawings? Tuning system

Cold magnetic shield Joints materials (if pre-assemblies are supplied)? Drawings? Manufacturing process & corresponding verification requirements Any pre-assembly foreseen? If yes, what are the requirements for permanent/non- permanent joints?

Dressed cavities (1/2) Putting all the parts together… Putting all the parts together… Manufacturing processes & corresponding verification requirements Permanent/non-permanent joints Assembly requirements Assembly sequence (if required) Mandatory manufacturing and inspection steps to be respected during assembly of the different parts composing the dressed cavities Dressed cavity

Dressed cavities (2/2) 1.What is the assembly sequence? 2.What are the critical steps and required quality controls/tests that are mandatory during assembly?

What’s next (short-medium term)? Completion of the engineering specification with the identified points and annex documentation. Release on EDMS (May/June 2015?) Establishment of EDMS structure to archive all the design, fabrication, assembly and tests documentation (May 2015) Manufacturing readiness review(s)? The final manufacturing and inspection plans, and the manufacturing documentation (drawings, procedures, qualifications,…) for the different acquired parts have to be available and approved by CERN prior to the start of manufacturing.
