Rotary Foundation’s Mission To enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.

ANNUAL FUND – SHARE 3-Year Cycle Funds are available to districts in the 3 rd year – through SHARE

SHARE SYSTEM EFFECTIVE 1 JULY 2015 $500 Earmarked $1,000 contribution District Dedicated Funds (DDF) 100% returned World Fund Up to $250 for District Grants 1:1 match of World Fund to DDF for Global Grants DDF and World Fund can also support PolioPlus or Rotary Peace Centres

Types of Grants (2015) District Grants Short-term projects/activities Local or International $2,000 - $5,000 USD match Funded by Clubs and District Administered by District Global Grants Large scale, longer-term projects/activities International $30,000 USD minimum budget Funded by Clubs, District and TRF Administered by TRF

District Grants  Grant awarded annually – maximum $5,000 USD/per club/year  Projects that are less than $15,000  Aligned with the Foundation’s mission  New project, one-off  Submitted by February 29 th, 2016  If oversubscribed for available funds – District policy for Selection Process comes into play District Grants Short-term projects/activities Local or International $2,000 - $5,000 USD match Funded by Clubs and District Administered by District

District Grant Activities…  Aligned with the Foundation’s mission  Include active Rotarian participation  Adhere to stewardship guidelines  Demonstrate cultural sensitivity

District Grants District Grant - $2,000 - $5,000 Your Club invests= $ 2,000$ 5,000 District matches 100% = $ 2,000$ 5,000 TOTAL $ 4,000$10,000 Note: Clubs will receive the District portion of the funding after the final project report has been submitted and approved.

Log in to District Website - Click on “Member Area”.

This will bring you to the “Admin” tab.

Click on “Grants” tab.

Then click on “Submit a Grant Request”.

Complete application.

District Grant Application Flowchart Club idea for project next Rotary year Secure partners, prepare budget/ plan (Jul-Feb this year) Complete on-line application on ClubRunner (Before Feb 29 th ) District Grant Committee Review (March – April?) District approves in principle, adds to Spend Plan (May?) Once ALL reports received, sends Spend Plan to TRF (Prior to June 30 th ) TRF approves “Spend Plan” and sends the funds to District Club implements project and report by end June District will distribute funds to clubs when project is COMPLETED and report is ACCEPTED Penalty !!! Do not start project Now you can start project

Grant Status Clubs can start as soon as District gives the final “go-ahead”. When completed and FINAL report submitted and accepted, District will disburse funds. Approved Grants Clubs will be asked to make necessary revisions to the project and resubmit for acceptance. Grants Requiring Revision Clubs may review the application and reasons for rejection. A new project may be submitted. Rejected Grants

Additional Requirements  Annual Qualification – Signed Memorandum of Understanding(MOU)  Good standing with the Rotary Foundation  Bank account for each project  Active participation of Rotarians

Global grants can be used to fund:  Humanitarian Projects – that support one or more areas of focus  Vocational Training Teams – teams travelling abroad to learn more about their profession or teach local professionals  Scholarships – for graduate-level academic studies in areas of focus

Global Grants 4 clubs invest $2,500 each = $ 10,000 (USD) District (DDF) matches 100% = $ 10,000 Subtotal $ 20,000 TRF matches 50% of cash = $ 5,000 (of Clubs’ $10,000 USD) TRF matches 100% of DDF = $10,000 (of District’s $10,000 USD) TOTAL $35,000 Note: Foundation’s World Fund provides a minimum of $15,000 and maximum of $200,000 5% additional Global Grant Admin fee (July 1 st, 2015) District Dedicated Funds (DDF)The Rotary Foundation (TRF)

Complete “First Steps” to get your Global Grant #.

When returning to your application, click on “My Grants”, then click on your GG#.
