Tone of Hrothgar Hrothgar’s Tone: Hrothgar is highly respected and admired by the people of his kingdom and by Beowulf. (line 360- “Wulfgar addressed his dear lord”)

Symbolism Hrothgar = Sovereign Power -he is mighty and powerful -he is humble -he is a peacemaker -he is giving, friendly, and kind -he is caring and compassionate -he is joyful in the right moments -he keeps his hope Overall, Hrothgar does his best to lead and protect his people. Though he is superior to all around him, he does what is best for others, not just himself.
