Viking Estimation Team Assignment 13 Team 2-1

Content 1/ Introduction 2 / Wideband Delphi & COCOMO II 3 / The assemble task formula 4 / Wideband Delphi process 5 / The result

1/ Introduction Firstly, our Team focuses on trade-off the technique, and then arrived at using the Combination of Wideband Delphi and using the COCOMO II at calibrate. The Trade-off rational is described in part 2. Wideband Delphi and COCOMO II. Next, our Team defines some formulas in order to generate the estimation result, based closely on Lecture 16 – SMA slide of Martin. These formulas are described in detail in part 3. The assemble task formula. After that, our Team record and describe how we did the estimation using those technique, also explain which data in which deliverable. In this part, you will see that the origin Wideband Delphi process is tailored, and also the COCOMO II included. For detail, those information is described in part 4.The Combination of Wideband Delphi and COCOMO II estimation executing.

2/ Wideband Delphi & COCOMO II Wideband DelphiCOCOMO II It is a simple technique not requiring estimation experts Process is easy to understand and use WBD is applicable to original projects where no previous metrics exist and can be used when limited information is available, and/or knowledge is lacking The process is an inclusive approach using all the project team to perform an active role in estimation and the estimation figures are produced by team consensus through estimation iteration sessions Fast and easy to use and useful early in project COCOMO II can be used for the following major decision situations and making investment or other financial decisions involving a software development effort Setting project budgets and schedules as a basis for planning and control. Deciding on or negotiating tradeoffs among software cost, schedule, functionality, performance or quality factors Strengths :

3/ The assemble task formula:

4 / Wideband Delphi process Team 2-1 discusses the product being developed and brainstorms any assumptions. Team 2-1 generated a task list consisting of 10 major tasks: Planning Kick-off Business Modeling Requirements, Analysis & Design Develop Control Account Plan 2 Develop Control Account Plan 3 Develop Control Account Plan 4 Develop Control Account Plan 5 Develop Control Account Plan 6 Administration.
