Innovative Forms of Market Promotion Marseille 14 to 18 November nd Action Meeting with a psychologist: “The materialistic lifestyle of young people/ Methods of prevention of shopaholic attitudes”

What are the main subjects of your job? Thanasis

What does shopaholic mean? Georgia It means: “I want to consume more products and services than I really need”. In other words a lot of people say “I live to shop”

Which segments of population are affected by shopaholism? Well, well! Unfortunately teenagers are the main victims of it because they often have low confidence or because no one helps them to pursue their personal goals or explore real values about their life. Be continued on the next page George

Which are the main consequences for them ? Shopaholism affects young people negatively, especially when they don’t afford to satisfy a lot of their demands. So the sadness, stress and quarrels with their families are some of the consequences. John

Do you believe that the economic crisis of our country will affect the behavior of teenagers regarding shopaholism? Georgia Of course the crisis will affect the behavior of young people because they will not have a lot of money to shop. To conclude, if we help young people to explore the magic word “communication”,then they will develop a strong personality against shopaholism.
