Old Glory: What does she stand for? Old Glory: What Does She Stand For?

She stands for freedom. America has been known as the “Land of the Free”. The flag represents our freedom of choice. The top photo shows a flag in front of a church. The bottom shows a gathering of those showing support for their country.

She stands for peace. We use the American flag to stand for peace. Many nations experienced little peace and moved to America to gain a peaceful home. These photos show peaceful celebrations.

She stands for a sense of being united. Many people came to America for the opportunity to be united as one. They came from different backgrounds and tribes.

United we stand. They came with their families to have a new and better life. Some had to make the journey alone.

The flag shows support. Our flag shows the great support of our people. Here a crowd gathers to show support on Coolidge Day.

Our flag shows service and protection. Brave men and women are very faithful to show service and protection. We have always been fortunate to live in a country of loyalty.

The flag stands for opportunity. There have been numerous opportunities in America. Millions have come in order to have a work related opportunity. The photo shows an assembly line of workers who were given the opportunity to earn a living.

Opportunities for the young Even children have been given the opportunity and privilege of getting an education. Flags are almost always used to represent education.

The flag is a representation. Flag representation has been a big part of sporting events. Team spirit and spirit for a nation have become one over the centuries. Indoor and outdoor sporting events display the flag to recognize the United States of America.

The flag shows politics. The flag has always been a part of politics in America. From the first president to the current, a flag always acknowledges a political figure.

The flag sometimes shows sadness. Our flag has also been used to mark the sadness of the death of a military or political figure. Often the flag is used to remember those who have influenced our nation. We also use the flag to mark memorable moments in U.S. history.
