Renting  There are many different types of rental accommodations and ads show various features of these accommodations

 A high rise building has bachelor, one bedroom and two bedroom units  What’s the main difference between bachelor and one bedroom? –Bachelor does not have a separate bedroom

Some Math!  Mary thinks she can afford a bachelor apartment that is $510 a month plus utilities  The current tenant tells her she paid about $1000 for utilities last year –About how much should she expect to pay for utilities per month?  1000 / 12 = $83.33 –About how much will she pay in total then?  $510 + $83.33 = $593.33

 A townhouse for rent advertises “4 Appliances” –What appliances would these likely be?  Fridge  Stove  Washer  Dryer

 Cable TV is not usually included in the monthly rent. –What type of rental accommodation might include cable?  Basement apartments

 What other expenses might not be included in the monthly rent? –Laundry –Parking –Insurance –Phones –Internet

 What are some features of rental ads that make the ads effective? –Saying what’s included –Not all acronyms (you can actually read it) –Extra information available online
