 Discussions between NSF (Harriet Taylor and Joe Urban) and ACM Education Board in 2007, culminating in a joint meeting in December 2007 ◦ Early focus on enrollment crisis and RAGS report ◦ Original intent to have the meeting in Summer 2008  Formal funding application to NSF in Summer 2008  Strong pushback related to RAGS in the December 2008 ACM Education Council meeting  Reorientation of the summit focus (with NSF’s approval) in early 2009

 Planning Committee: ◦ Mark Guzdial (Chair), Jane Prey, Heikki Topi, and Joe Urban, advised by Boots Cassell  Invitations to participating organizations in February – March 2009  Planning meeting in March 2009  Preparation of the summit booklet in May- June 2009  Summit on June 25-26, 2009 in Washington, D.C.
