Loggerhead- (pun) a slang name for a stupid person

Lamentable- filled with grief

Apothecary- pharmacist
The two old friends met at the pub to visit over food and cordials.
Cordial- a drink believed to be good for the heart/health (usually contains alcohol)
Romeo and Juliet’s love was so inexorable that even his banishment wouldn’t keep them from loving each other.
Inexorable- unstoppable
Romeo left an amorous letter describing his devotion to Juliet.
Amorous- loving
The two paramours could be seen holding hands and kissing in the courtyard.
