SOCIAL INJUSTICE THE TALIBAN By: Jacob Mermelstein

What is the social injustice? The Taliban taking over Afghanistan What/who does it affect? The people living in Afghanistan

The Taliban I researched the Taliban taking over the city of Kabul. Who? The Article is about Latifa, and her experience living under the Taliban rule When? The Taliban took Kabul on September 27 th 1996 What? The Taliban wanted everybody to conform to their ideals of the Sharia law mmons/8/80/Afghanistan_flag_ jpg

What led up to the event? The Taliban wanted the people of Afghanistan to follow Sharia law. Sharia law is the Taliban’s interpretation of the Quran

What were the results? The Taliban took away all rights for women Required everyone to follow Sharia law Many Afghan people were killed

What made it interesting? This article made the issue of the Taliban interesting to me because it showed what they did, and how a woman went through life under the rule, being stripped of their rights.
