A trip to London

Big Ben ► Tourists in London always visit Westminster and see Big Ben.

Big Ben is really a bell. You can hear it every hour. It is a big bell.

Westminster Abbey ► It is a symbol of England. ► Standing not far from the Houses of Parliament.

Westminster Abbey was built in 1065

The coronation of all British Kings and Queens takes place in Westminster Abbey

Tower of London ► The Tower of London is very old.

It has a long and cruel history. The tall building is the White Tower, the oldest part of the Tower is near the river.

It is a museum now. ► The Tower is guarded (охраняется) by the Yeomen Warders (стражниками) popularly called `Beefeaters`.

► The Tower is surrounded by gardens, where a lot of black ravens have been living since ancient times.

► The legend says that without ravens the Tower will fall. ► The ravens will not let you pass by if they don't get acquainted (познакомятся) with you.
