Aim: How do we solve quadratic equation with complex roots? Do Now: 1. Solve for x: 2. Solve for x: 3. Solve for x: HW: p.219 # 6,8,10,12,14 p.241 # 6,14,25

To solve a quadratic equation, there are two methods we often use: 1.Factoring if possible 2.Use quadratic formula Once again, the standard form of a quadratic equation is ax 2 + bx + c = 0 The quadratic formula is

a = 1, b = 4, c = 5

a = 3, b = -2, c = 2 Solve for x: 3x 2 – 2x + 2 = 0

Solve for x:

Solve for x: x = 0

You try & get credit Solve for x: 1. x 2 + 8x + 86 = 0 2. x 2 = 8x – x 2 – 6x + 2 = 0 4.
