 We have a need for fatherhood  Our need for a father is fulfilled in God our Father  Psalm 68 5 A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, | is God in his holy dwelling

Deuteronomy 32 6 Is this the way you repay the Lord, you foolish and unwise people? Is he not your Father, who bought you, who made you and formed you?

Psalm As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;

Matthew “Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. 33 But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.

Mark “Abba, Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”

Matthew In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.

Romans 8 15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

Matthew 23 9 And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.

Matthew 6 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

1. As my Father in heaven, he loves me with a perfect love 2. As my Father in heaven, he knows everything there is to know 3. As my Father in heaven, he is good to me

Matthew 7 7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. 9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

1 Chronicles 4 10 Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! … And God granted his request.

1. Call on God as Father. Do it consciously 2. Pause and ask what it means to you for God to your heavenly Father 3. Promise of blessing. No false promises of wealth and health. 4. I trust you to meet my needs because you are my Father in heaven.
