Come and See Diocesan Renewal Process

Dear Children, Now that the first year of Come and See is complete, we are ready to begin the second year together. God loves each one of you very much. If you ask Him, he will show you His love and give you His peace. God bless, Bishop Arthur From Bishop Arthur

Year One Scripture & Prayer During the first year we were praying and reading the stories in St Mark’s Gospel.

Year Two Repentance & Reconciliation During the second year we will be thinking about saying sorry and God’s forgiveness.

Year Two Repentance & Is when you know you have done something wrong and you own up and say sorry Reconciliation Is when a friendship that has been broken, gets mended.

Sacrament Repentance & Reconciliation The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a very good way of saying sorry and mending broken friendships

God loves us Here is a story that tells of God’s love and forgiveness for the people He created… (It’s like reading the Bible in 2 minutes!!)

In the beginning, God and people were friends

Oh no! Something went wrong

God loves us People decided to disobey God and stopped living in His way

The bad things they did got in the way of their friendship with God.

The sins of the people pushed God further…

and further away…

… until the friendship was broken. But God had a plan to close the gap and bring them close to Him again.

He sent His son Jesus to bridge the gap between God the Father and His people.

Today, we can receive God’s forgiveness through the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Jesus died on the cross to take away our sin. We can receive God’s peace during Confession.

God loves us Repentance & Reconciliation What can we do in school? Have a class discussion about how Repentance and Reconciliation can be celebrated in school Join together for a Reconciliation Service in Advent Find ways that you can be friends and bring peace into school

Let us pray … God our Heavenly Father, You have shown us how much you love us because you have sent your Son Jesus. Help me to be open to the Holy Spirit, so that I can know Jesus better. Please bless everyone in our diocese, as we accept the invitation to “Come and See” Jesus. We ask this through Jesus your son. Amen.
