Timeline for work on protecting IGO/INGO identifiers in generic Top Level Domains (gTLDs) 15 JAN 2013 At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) Advice. 11 APR 2013 Government Advisory Committee (GAC) Advice. 2 JUL 2013 New gTLD Program Committee (NGPC) adopted a resolution to provide temporary protections in the new gTLD Registry Agreement for the list of IGO names & acronyms provided by the GAC in March JUL 2013 GAC Advice. 21 JUL 2013 ALAC Advice. 2 OCT 2013 NGPC sent a proposal to GAC in response to the July 2013 Advice.

Generic Names Support Organization (GNSO) Policy Recommendation. 24 JAN 2014 Public Comment on GNSO Policy Recommendation. 7 FEB 2014 Board Resolution: Noted additional time needed to consider GNSO policy recommendations. Asked NGPC to consider recommendations in context of GAC advice. Asked NGPC to develop proposal to address GAC advice and GNSO policy recommendations. 20 MAR 2014 NGPC developed a draft proposal for ongoing dialog between the GAC and NGPC MAR 2014 Board heard concerns about implications of the draft proposal on the Board consideration of GNSO recommendations.
