Amazon Rainforest Save the amazon, Save the world…

In the Amazon Rainforest there are approximately 400 tribes. Some have contact with outsiders, but others don't. Every tribe is different with their own unique culture, traditions, and languages. One of the Indians biggest threats is the 'outsiders' wanting their land for farms, logging, ranching, & other types of destruction. Many tribes manage to survive by planting, hunting, and creating shelters. They also have access to The Western healthcare and education systems which have proven to be very successful. Usually many tribes did have rights over their land many years ago, but the government and companies usually ignore their rights. The Indians of Brazil are not respected properly anywhere, and if the government or companies don’t stop destroying their land many tribes will become extinct.

Lear’s Macaw Are beautiful birds with strong beaks, & toes, and excellent parents! They are very social because they love to clean each other feathers, and 'chat' in between their groups which can be up to between birds. They are mostly endangered because many people trap them and sell them to people as pets, and in the wild humans are destroying their homes.

Jaguar These cats are considered to be the biggest cats on this continent. Despite that there are only 15,000 species left in the wild & in conservation. The biggest threat to this animal are poachers who want them only for their fur. Since their prey are large-sized domestic livestock or monkeys, reptiles, rodents, fish ext the destruction of the rainforest is also affecting not only their habitat but their survival out in the wild.

Three toed sloth Three toed sloths are soo lazy! they sometimes sleep up to 20 hours a day, That means that they dont eat much. They tend to only live in tropical forests where it is warm because they cant manage their body temperature very well.So they depend on their warm habitat to live. Thats why they are endangered because of the destruction of their habitat

Poison Arrow Frog Despite that this creature is extremely poisonous, there are many beautiful features to it like their bright blue colours. These frogs capture insects or spiders with their long tongues, and excellent vision. This unique specie is mostly endangered because of humans destroying their habitat.

Golden Tamarin These monkeys are one of the most endangered species with only around 800 alive today. They are the size of a squirrel which makes them the tiniest monkeys. But they eat a variety of foods like: flowers, fruits, nectars and gums from plants, bird eggs, frogs, snails, & lizards. - Which makes them omnivores.

Plants & Trees… In a common 4 square mile patch of rainforest it contains as many 1,500 plants, & 750 species of trees. It is very difficult to guess how many plants or trees there are in the amazon because It covers an area of 5,500,000 Km2……- Which means there is probably tens of thousands of plants and tree species known, and yet to be discovered!

NOW YOU KNOW WHAT MAKES THE RAINFOREST UNIQUE. ITS NOT BECAUSE OF WHAT IT CAN GIVE US, OR ABOUT HOW RICH IT CAN MAKE SOME PEOPLE, ITS ABOUT WHAT LIVES THERE THAT MAKES IT UNIQUE, ITS ABOUT WHAT EXPERIENCES IT CAN PROVIDE US WITH, ITS UNIQUE BECAUSE THE RAINFOREST IS A VITAL PART OF THE EARTHS SURVIVAL.... By: Nichole Suarez Perdomo
