General Ignatian Spirituality … promote a love for the inner reality of the Society of Jesus: her Institute, her spirit and values, her way of proceeding rooted in the Spiritual Exercises. A Way to Clarify Your Values “everything is a gift from God, A matter of the heart… What is Ignatian Spirituality? D. Fleming, SJ Pages … 12-Sept-2014 Two Standards Whoever desires to serve as a soldier of God beneath the banner of the Cross in our Society, … is a member of a community founded chiefly for this purpose: to strive especially for the progress of souls in Christian life and doctrine and for the propagation of the faith by the ministry of the word, by the Spiritual Exercises, by works of charity, and expressly by the education of children and unlettered persons in Christianity.

PRAYER for Ongoing Restoration Blessed are you, Lord, who choose the weak and make them strong, raise the fallen, heal the wounded and gather the dispersed back to you. Renew us with the Spirit who moved St. Ignatius and his companions to serve your Son under the standard of the Cross. Grant us the courage to reach out to our forgotten brothers and sisters; the generosity to open our doors to those who seek you, and the wisdom to sow seeds of your Kingdom in the hearts of all we meet,. for the greater glory of your Name, as we pray… Take Lord, and receive all my liberty, my memory, my understanding, and my entire will, all that I have and possess. You have given all to me. To You, O Lord, I return it. All is Yours, dispose of it wholly according to Your will. Give me Your love and Your grace, for this is sufficient for me. Let us bless the Lord. All: And Give God Thanks

Prayer for Generosity May the almighty Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit grant us the grace, that knowingly we may and want to seek and beg for these two things: To be loved by God and His saints & To love God and His saints. From now on however, we must strive more for the better, the more generous & be more attentive to what has been neglected by us. we must seek more ardently to give signs of our love than seek the signs indicating that we are loved. And these signs will be the efforts we take for the sake of Jesus and all people. Amen A Prayer of St. Pierre Favre On Christmasday, Jan-14

Prayer for Generosity "I have to become present to myself in God. In my culture I am constantly dragged away from myself. The phone, lights, s, noise—everything is going on to drag me away from myself. So the first thing I have to do is come present to myself as an individual whom Almighty God has chosen as his own. I belong to God & I have to become aware of that now & that means becoming aware of the gifts that God is giving to me— † not in general, † not in the past, † but right now, † today." Fr. Joe Tetlow SJ An Ignatian Advent Prayer

Principle and Foundation Lord my God, when Your love spilled over into creation, you thought of me. I am from love of love for love Let my heart, God, always recognize, cherish, and enjoy your goodness in all of creation. Direct all that is in me toward your praise. Teach me reverence for every person, all things. Energize me in your service. Lord God, may nothing ever distract me from your love... Neither health nor sickness wealth nor poverty honor nor dishonor short life nor long life. May I never seek nor choose to be other than you intend or wish. Amen. (Ignatius Loyola, Spiritual Exercises, adapted by Jacqueline Syrup Bergan and Marie Schwan) Prayer for Generosity
