Background In the WID [RP-152284], it has specified that For the uplink: Single tone transmissions are supported. Two numerologies should be configurable by the network for single-tone transmission: 3.75 kHz and 15 kHz. A cyclic prefix is inserted. Frequency domain sinc pulse-shaping in the physical layer description. Multi-tone transmissions are supported, based on SC-FDMA with 15 kHz UL subcarrier spacing. FFS: Additional mechanisms for PAPR reduction. The UE shall indicate the support single-tone and/or multi-tone, details to be discussed by RAN WGs For UEs that is only capable of single-tone transmission, TPSK modulation can be supported to achieve higher peak data rate and maintain the same PAPR as single-tone modulation with BPSK and QPSK.

Proposals For single-tone only transmissions, TPSK is supported. Both numerologies,3.75 kHz tone spacing and 15 kHz tone spacing, supports TPSK. Exact TPSK formats to be supported are FFS.
