111 Hunwick Primary School Village school in Rural area of County Durham 170 pupils 6 classes AIM: To use digital video to improve children’s capacity to evaluate their Literacy. Theme of lessons: Looking at ways to persuade an audience Previously we had read and written persuasive letters, produced persuasive leaflets and watched television adverts.

222 Task: to write, film and edit a persuasive advert Results: The first group – no problems The second group – found it difficult Changes made to planning. Children identified persuasive themes. When watching second one - didn’t understand it. Suggested improvements. The advert was so different and much more persuasive.

333 MAIN FINDINGS Focus Motivation Enjoyment Concentration Audience More critical discussion about specific genre Instant feedback.
