Building Partnerships: Doing Together What We Cannot Do Alone Consortium for Excellence in Teacher Education STEM Conference, May 2012 Presented by Bonnie Hallam Northeast Regional Noyce Conference October, 2012

Who are the Partners?  Liberal Arts Colleges and Universities across the Country. What are the Partners trying to do?  Work together to recruit, prepare and retain excellent STEM teachers at the secondary level.

We think working together will be more effective than working alone!

 1/2 of the schools participating in the pre- conference survey indicated that they felt they had strong professional expertise  1/3 of the institutions reported organizational culture/support structures as a strength  1/3 felt they could bring successful strategies on teacher retention to the table
