Holden Caulfield D.B Phoebe Negative person, thinks everything is lousy, and never really does well in school or anything at all Holden’s older brother -big time writer Holden’s little sister and pretty much the only person he actually likes

Jane Gallagher Sally Hayes Stradlater An old friend of Holden’s. She happened to be going out with Stradlater A prissy girl Holden has a little fling with but really irritates him One of the main reasons Holden leaves Pencey Prep early.. And why his adventure began.

After Holden gets into a fist fight with Stradlater, his roommate, he takes no time leaving Pencey Prep. He travels to New York and gets into many crazy, and unbelievable situations. He almost lost his virginity to a hooker. Meets three girls at a hotel club, spends the whole night buying them drinks and dancing with them with nothing in return. Takes old Sally Hayes out and tries to run away with her. And last but not least gets so drunk he stays at a pond for a good while and almost freezes.

Holden ends up going home to see Phoebe after being at the pond for a while. He wasn’t so drunk anymore, after being in the freezing cold. When he gets home he sneaks in very quietly and luckily his parents aren’t home so it wasn’t too much trouble. He talks to Phoebe a while until his parents got home, borrows some money, and leaves her this hunting hat he had bought in N.Y

Holden finds himself in a bind. Where does he go now? Well, he remembers an old friend who happens to also be an old teacher (Mr. Antolini) of his. He stays with him for a while and gets some pretty good advice. But after being asleep for a bit Holden wakes up to not only a rude awakening but also a very disturbing one. To Holden’s surprise he finds Mr. Antolini sitting down on the floor petting his head! Now what would you make of this? So Holden freaks and leaves

The next day Holden decides to meet up with Phoebe to tell her good-bye because he’s leaving town and never coming back but when Phoebe and him meet he sees she has a suit case. She says she’s going with him and when he tells her no, she gets sore. In the end he couldn’t hurt Phoebe this way and so he decides to stay and go home with her.

Holden Caulfield a young boy who is very misunderstood and lost gets kicked out of his school Pencey Prep. He decides to leave early and ends up on a crazy adventure in New York.
