Presentation transcript:

Geometry

 Draw over two lines on your paper a couple inches apart.  Draw a transversal through your two parallel lines.  Find the measures of the eight angles created.

 If two parallel lines are cut by a transversal, then each pair of corresponding angles is congruent.

 3.1 Alternate Interior Angles- If two parallel lines are cut by a transversal, then the alternate interior angles are congruent.  3.2 Consecutive Interior Angles- If two parallel lines are cut by a transversal, then each pair of consecutive interior angles is supplementary.

 3.3 Alternate Exterior Angles- If two parallel lines are cut by a transversal, then each pair of alternate exterior angles is congruent.

 Find the measure of the missing angles. 118°

 Find x and y and then find the measures of the angles. 2x-10 x+15 3y+20
